What sports do your children play?

Wed, 04/18/2007 - 15:00
My daughter is active in both soccer and swimming. But now that she is getting older, soccer isn't as cute. The girls are so rough and there is no safety gear. I'm thinking I want to steer her away from contact sports. She loves sports and I don't want to take something away that she really likes without having other options. Just curious what others are doing. Thank you, d

Hi, my 10 yr old son has CPS and plays travel soccer as well as basketball and travel baseball. The boys get VERY physical on the soccer field and my son wears "total 90" headgear. It looks like a headband and comes in a lot of different colors -- having a boy he only wants the black. It runs about $25, you can order it online if you don't have a supplier near you. We are in Michigan and there are several (girls) travel teams that are requiring the headgear as part of their uniform so it is gaining popularity. My son never complains about wearing it. You can go onto total90.com to find more information. Hope that was helpful.

my 10 year old daughter is only recently started (6 months ago) medication for her E. She is now on her 3rd type - keppra /hopefuly this one will agree with her. Her passion prior to allthis was her pony which she has been told not to ride. I think its awful as it upsets her so much not riding. Are any other kids out there riding or am I a stupid mother to think she can go back to this sport?
