What info to engrave on back of medical alert bracelet?
Sun, 08/17/2014 - 00:04My daughter has a rare genetic disorder which the doc's feel are causing her sudden onset seizures. First witnessed one in April of this year. They have suggested that she wear a Medical I.D bracelet and I'm trying to figure out what info to include other than she has epilepsy, contact numbers and on meds. Any idea's?
Thanks!
For complicated Medic Alert

For complicated Medic Alert has yearly service with info kept up to date and available to first responders to get info using the reference number on bracelet. We don't have a service, just bracelet with name, ICE plus phone number, "see other side", on back two neuro conditions & two allergies - using 7 lines need them 15-18 chars for most lines **** list any condition that affects critical medical decisions if person is unable to respond. We don't include meds as that is a moving target for us, listing seizure condition is enough (meds are for seizures), but other meds for other conditions matter more in a crisis). At a hospital the seizure meds put her into drug precautions but less of an issue if she goes into status. Some people prefer conditions on front, name and phone numbers hidden but for our child at school that isn't an issue. Health plans at school give more details and restrictions on when to call EMTs or hospitals to use (we use local children's hospital for neuro conditions but another group for everything else, so my phone is the ICE number instead of a doctor's office, at other health care group she has a restriction to stop them doing MRIs that comes up). Funny enough the two places I don't get great reception are the school and children's hospital. Used to use N Style but they didn't have enough space so use Stickyj right now. There are other id jewelry places but many did not have options/space that worked for us.
