Water Immersion Reflex Epilepsy

Wed, 05/17/2017 - 21:15
My 10 month old son was just diagnosed with water immersion reflex epilepsy. Apparently its very rare so there isn't a lot of information out there. He doesn't need to be on medicine as long as we avoid the trigger - water immersion. So he is being sponge bathed and has not had any issues. Does anyone know someone that has had this? I just want to talk to someone who has dealt with this before. Dr said he will likely grow out of it but we won't know until we put him in water again - which at this point I am so afraid to do, I have no idea when I will be ready. Any info is greatly appreciated!

Hello Adora1822,My sun of 10 months old has had the same diagnose last week. We share the same experience and me and my wife are also looking for more info and details. Did you already receive some? Maybe we can connect and share our experiences and details about both medical cases?
