Vertigo Epilepsy/Seizures

Fri, 05/20/2016 - 17:49
I have a 22 year old son who was diagnosed with epilepsy at 11 months old. He is on multiple meds and has a VNS, but his seizures have never been controlled. In the past 9 months he has started having episodes 1-3 times per week. He gets up in the morning and is fine. Within 1 to 2 hours he is so dizzy that he can't walk without help and unless I make him lay down and go to sleep he ends up very nauseated and vomiting to the point of having the dry-heaves. I'm desperately trying to find some answers. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I had a toxic reaction to Dilantin when it was first prescribed. I was taken off it and the next week I went back on and had no problems. I think the dosage was changed. 35 years later I was having the same issue and couldn't figure out why. I finally remembered that first week and sure enough I was toxic on it again and had to be taken off and the medications changes completely. It does build up in your system. So check with the neurologist on this issue the dosage may ne high or if they have taken it for some time the therapeutic levels may be high.
