Tooth Brush Epilepsy

Tue, 01/16/2007 - 23:49
Just found out today during round the clock video EEG of my 15 year old daughter that there is indeed such a thingas tooth brush epilepsy. We always suspected that brushing her teeth triggered a seizure for her, but have now almost confirmed that that is the case. The two epileptologist who were there to monitor her, had her brush her teeth. And sure enough, she had a seziure within a minute of brushing. Thought any one with similar condition who haven't heard of this could benefit from this info.

That's very interesting, I don't have that trigger but... I would be interested in finding out more about why it triggers her to have a seizure. What kind of epilespy does she have? Simple Partial? Complex Partial? Tonic-Clonic? pamela

Wow! that is very interesting. If you get anymore info please pass it along. The only thing I know is, that if you have the amalgam filling(silver filling) if peices come out it can cause seizures. For the mercury can cause seizures in the mouth. I have also heard that you can tell peoples disease my their gums, teeth... http://www.mercurypoisoned.com/ http://www.mercuryfreenow.com/ How are her gums and teeth? Take care Lisa http://www.sleep-safe.co.uk/id90.htm http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/
