sleeping beauty

my daughter was recently put on the medication topamax, since this med was added to the rest it was been increased 3 times she takes a total of 3 25ml tabs a day she is very sleepy sz'z have cut in half since adding this med, but my question is how long can i expect her to be totally out of it she will sometimes wake-up to eat, but not always most of her feedings are administered through her N.G. tube.
should i expect her to be this way for a while? or is this just going to be until her body adjust to the new med?? if anyone can relate please help out- thanks
