Photosensitive - Sunlight Triggered Only

Mon, 06/12/2017 - 11:11
My son was diagnosed last year with photosensitive epilepsy - but it's only triggered with Natural Sunlight (video games, strobe lights, etc don't affect him). He is on depakote and kepra but it really doesn't seem to help. This seems to be a rare version of epilepsy and we've been to two pediatric neurologists but haven't found an answer yet. Has anyone had experience with this? Thank you!

We were able to get a nock off brand of Zeis Blue Z1 lenses, usually only found in Italy. We got motorcycle sunglass frames that don't let light around the sides. Works awesome!

Hi there my daughter has exactly the same problem and reacts to sunlight. it seems rare and she is currently being treated with Keppra which has little effect. She is desperate to drive in two years time but we have yet to find a treatment that helps. I was wondering if you have had any luck yet with your sons treatment? ( I think your post is quite old)Jane
