Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy

Tue, 07/25/2017 - 18:46
Hi Everyone, I'm new to this group. My son has had Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy since March 1997. He almost 35 and he usually has a seizure one or twice a month if he hasn't gotten enough sleep. Well, lately a day or two having a seizure he has been having what seems like Focal onset impaired awareness seizures that last a few minutes where he's up walking around but not there mentally. These usually happen also after he has fallen asleep for a few minutes and wakes up. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Please, I'm so worried about him. Thank you

Focal onset impaired awareness seizures  is better known as a complex partial seizure. When was his last appointment with his neurologist? When was the last time his medications or dosages were changed? Have either of you discussed this with his neurologist?Dosages need to be adjusted from time to time since the body changes. Weight gain, length of time on the medication (some medications require testing for adjustments)?
