There is definetly a connection there. Says Peter Van Hazerbeke of the Epilepsy Foundation, "There are at least 150 underlying causes of epilepsy."

Metobolic etiology , or the study of the causes of seizures, has been ongoing for decades.

Considering all those links between carbon dioxide (CO2) on the EEG, the abnormal values of carbon dioxide in arterial and jugular blood of patients with petit mals and grandmals, and the abnormal variation of carbon dioxide preceding a grand mal seizure in such a way as to indicate a casual relationship, we may conclude that carbon dioxide plays a significant role in the etiology of epileptic convulsions.

Stress, is enemy number 1, and plays a vital role in how our metabolism operates. Alternative treatments, and supplements should be a big part of our treatment. Not just the band aid approach with Anti seizure meds.

I have not been in this site in a very long time.  My son Sam is now 19 months and he has undergone every test out there, no answers....He had a muscle biopsy done because they thought that he may have a mitochondrial disorder.  The doctors explained to us that many children with metabolic or mitochondrial disorders do have seizures.  Are they planning on doing a muscle biopsy for your daughter to confirm?  Fortunately, we received the results of Sam's biopsy, and it concluded that he does not have a mito disorder.  To date his diagnosis is refractory myoclonic epilepsy with developemental delay.  We are currenlty on the keto diet with little success.

Hugs to you and your daughter.
