Hi, I was hoping you could comment on what you said about your child's fidgeting and cluttering. What did you mean by that? My daughter has sensory processing disorder. She has a very hard time settling down and often can't stop moving. I am now wondering what pieces of her sensory disorder are really from her seizures. Thanks! Susan

Hi Susan, My son is a huge fidgeter(sp). It seems like he has to keep moving. Even when he goes to sleep his left leg moves constantly. He practically beats us black and blue when ever he sleeps in my bed. :) When he was in 1st grade, his teacher had to come up with ways to allow him to move or else he couldn't concentrate on his work. He also has a hard time verbalising his thoughts outloud and on paper. He had a million thoughts and knew what he wanted to say but just couldn't get them out. After a parent teacher conference we decided to have him tested and they came up with "cluttering" and has been going to speech therapy thru out his 2nd grade year and will continue to do so next school year. Also, at night he had a tendancy to either sit up in bed or wander the house. We discussed this stuff with his neurologists and he thought that it was all related with the epilepsy. I really believe it is because since he has been on medication the fidgeting and wandering at night has really subsided. He still does it some but not to the degree he used to and he seems to sleep more peacefully at night. Hope this helped. Marla

Yes, thank you! I will discuss this with our Neurologist too. Maybe some of the reasons my daughter still has trouble in this area is from the seizures not her sensory issues. She sounds very much like your son. Thank you and good luck to you guys!
