Daughter--living with epilepsy

Thu, 06/30/2016 - 23:25
Hi! Im new here. At 7 months old (dec 2015) my daughter had her first seizure which lasted 15 minutes long after being brought to the hospital they told us it was a febrile seizure. March 24th she began having focal seizures and was diagnosed with epilepsy. I have felt a roller coaster of emotions. We have tried keppra, vitamim b6, trileptal and topamax with no success. I would LOVE to hear some positive stories on living with epilepsy. I try so hard to not let it "run our life" but 24 hours a day i have knots in my stomach terrified of the next seizure. Im trying to stay positive and not be diacouraged. Prayers for our family please. Kaylee

Having a child with epilepsy

Having a child with epilepsy (especially being diagnosed that young) is unimaginably hard. I will say this that it makes me appreciate our seizure-free days that much more. I wish I had more advice but I feel the exact same. I am just a nervous wreck all the time. I needed antidepressants and anxiety pills just to go back to work and drop her off with a private sitter. There is no feeling more empty than something being wrong with your baby.
