Can someone explain auras

Fri, 10/06/2006 - 19:50
My 5 year old has benign occipital childhood epilepsy (BOCE). A sympton a child with BOCE may feel before a seizure is the feeling of nausea or wanting to throw up. I believe this is an aura. Can someone explain what an aura feels like before a seizure? Is it unique to the individual?

An aura is a feeling. It is also called a simple partial seizure. It could be just a feeling, or a feeling in a body part, tingling, smells, deja vu feeling, change in body temperature, a feeling of anxiety, a sound, a strange taste. It can be unique for some people. take care Lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/
