Absence/myoclonic seizures and wetting

Mon, 02/06/2017 - 14:19
My 6-yr-old had a bullying situation at school, and developed a lot of anxious behaviors, including wetting himself. We changed some circumstances, and he has been doing better, no more wetting, but some issues "attending" in class. Then a few days ago I was talking to him and he seemed to have a series of myoclonic jerks in his arms. (I have epilepsy, so I immediately recognized it.) He said sometimes it happens at school and makes him make mistakes in his writing, and sometimes his head hurts (pointed to his left eyebrow). I alerted his teacher so she could observe before we take him to the doctor, and she just told me that he wet himself several times today. I'm wondering if he is having absence seizures and loss of bladder control. Or just too caught up in his work to ask to go to the bathroom (which he does sometimes). I'm going nuts trying to figure out what is behavioral and what is neurological. Anyone have experience with wetting and absence or myoclonic seizures in kids?
