Would you take medication?

Thu, 09/07/2017 - 22:45
Looking for some thoughts on my situation. I had one possible seizure two years ago, no one witness it but that was the EMT's assessment. I had a confirmed seizure in June. I went to see a neurologist and he recommended medication. In the last two years I have had a CT scan, MRI and two EEG's all showing nothing. I started medication because that's what a responsible mother of 3 should do, right? I have been on two different medications and they all gave me HORRIBLE anxiety and depression. After some talking with my husband and my brother-in-law that was diagnosed with severe epilepsy over 40 years ago, I am now questioning should I even be on medication with no actual confirmed diagnoses. Particularly with the side effects being so horrible. What would you do?

My son has had all clear

My son has had all clear tests, it has been five years now and he is epileptic. His is very mild, only having seconds long episodes a year or more apart, but as responsible person that cares for his health and family, he takes his meds.
