Worried and frustrated

I'm a mum of a 16 year old boy. 6 months ago he started having 'turns' his eye rolls to one side , he looses vision ,shakes and is tired after. I found him in bed one morning unconscious after hearing banging.
Eeg clear as is brain scan. These episodes have no pattern . No "trigger" no other health problems other than glandular feaver. Consultant can't give any answers other than dint leave him alone or let him out alone. Im so worried and he's frustrated. Cosultant hesitant to diagnose or medicate. Any one been through this . Any words of advise much apreaciated
