Where to get Frisium (Clobazam) from USA.

I have seizures as the result of a cerebral hemorrhage in 1995. I was given at least a dozen different anti-seizure medications but non-worked (not effective, bad side effects or both). Finally, my neurologist in Australia gave me Frisium (Clobazam). It wasn't perfect but it was better than the others. In 2001, I had a Vagus Nerve Stimulator, VNS, implanted, in the USA. It has been very helpful, i.e. reduced the number of generalized seizures greatly. However, I still have problems with complex partial seizures. Frisium helps for my complex partial seizures When I came to the USA, I brought along lots of Frisium. When I ran out, I found a web site in Canada that had more Frisium sent from the Bahamas. The next time I needed Frisium, the previous web site was unavailable. I found another web site, somewhere in the world, and they had the Frisium sent from Pakistan. My doctor said it must not have been counterfeit since it worked. Actually, each time I got Frisium from the net, it came in official blister paks and the pills had exactly the right things imprinted on them. As some of you may know, Frisium is available in 41 countries but not in the USA. Now I need some more Frisium but cannot find the web sites I used before. Does anyone have advice on where I can get Frisium? The latest word is that the American officials have eased off intercepting packages of medications unless they come from very suspicious places. Incidently, my American doctors have always been willing to write a prescription for Frisium (Clobazam). I would really appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks, Nada.

Hi Nada, We are having the same problem, we cannot find anywhere to buy Clobazam/(Frisium). Our neurologist will not write us a precription any longer due to the fact that it is now considered a controlled substance in the United States. I just don't know what to do it is the only medication that has shown any results with the epilepsy. If I find anything out I will let you know. Please do the same. Cuca

I have taken Clobazam for several years now and with being in the UK there is no problem getting it but I looked into why it's not available in the US. It turns out that a drug company actually bought the US rights to it in 2004 and now they are awaiting FDA approval but this could take between 3-5 years so in theory is could be available in the US as early as 2007. It comes from a large family of similar meds but it has a slight difference to the others in the family in that there is less of a problem with building up tolerance to it. Could I be reading too much into this by thinking that this could be a reason why drug companies have steered clear of it before because there isn't enough profit in it? It's been around since the 70's and is available everywhere else so why not the US?

We are in the USA. My daughter has been taking Fisium for about 15 years. She started around 12 years old. However, today I tried to call the pharmacy in the Bahamas where I have always ordered the meds from and found out that it is permanently closed. Let me know if you find somewhere to order from. Thanks. Al
