What type of seizures might these be?

Fri, 07/21/2017 - 20:43
Im a 44 year old and have had 3 'seizures' now in 4 weeks. Each one has been at roughly 2am where I have had difficulty getting to sleep. I get a twitching in my right eye which gets worse , then my right arm goes number shortly followed by it starting to shake / convulse at which point I can't move. My legs seize up and hurt like hell. Twice I've been like this for about 30 seconds then blacked out and come round having bitten my tongue. The third time I remained conscious and sort of came out of it but was shivering/cold. In all cases I had real weakness in my right side for about 3-4 hours after . Goes without saying, I was utterly terrified each time Am booked to see the neurologist hoping he can give me something as frightened to go to bed ! Does this sound like a seizure type anyone is familiar with ?

so I am not a doctor. nevertheless it sounds like you may be having focal seizures that can generalize. the weakness afterward sounds like Todd's paresis/paralysis (wording is often Todd's paralysis, but there's a range seen).glad you'll be seeing a neurologist.
