Weird EEG results

Fri, 05/20/2016 - 16:14
Okay, I'm new to this site. Anyway, I had an EEG recently due to the fact I was dx'd about 11 years ago with nocturnal epilepsy, and my sleep pattern is way off. So, I was sitting there in the dark, thinking about stuff. I was about 10 minutes in when the tech asked if I was awake. I responded with a yes, and she stopped the test. When I saw my doctor a few days later, he told me they stopped the test early because my EEG showed I fell asleep. What I don't understand is how. I was awake and responsive. I'm only writing this because I was wondering if anyone else who has been dx'd with nocturnal epilepsy ever went through this too, with the strange results. (I was referred to a rheumatologist and the rheumatologist thinks I may be in the early stages of MS.) I could use some advice from people who've been through this.
