Thu, 09/22/2016 - 18:20
hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has any experience or information about the following : I have had 3-4 seizure like events in past 2 months, in which the right leg is involved , what is troubling is that the damage on my brain is also on right side , usually if you have right side damage , the left side of body is involved . also- I had a stroke around birth almost for years ago and was treated for CP like symptons as a child, I just started recently having seizures this past summer any thoughts? Thanks all!

You are correct when you

You are correct when you stated that one side of your brain controls the other side. CP I just is Cerebral Palsy. What you didn't post was where in your brain the blood clot was. Blood clots can cause a stroke. If it wasn't takes care of right then then that clot could cause scar tissue which can cause a person to have seizures. My epilepsy is cause by scar tissue which came from a hemorrhage to my brain caused from a blow to my head. So I do know what can happen when blood is on the brain for a period of time.  The scar tissue is in the left lobes of my brain and the area that is affected more is the area that controls my right hand. In almost all of my seizures it starts with my hand feeling weird or numb..So if you have a neurologist then tell them about your treatment for CP and your blood stroke. Since that could be looked at to see if there is any scar tissue.
