Searching for a Nerologist/Epitologist in San Jose, CA

Tue, 08/01/2006 - 09:49
Good morning, Yesterday, I posted a new thread to look for help trying to find a doctor for my nephew who has Cerebral Palsy but due to being a new user in this forum, thus I could not locate my thread. Anyway, here it is again: I am sponsoring my nephew, who is fifteen years of age and has Cerebral Palsy with Mental Retardation, along with his family to immigrate to the US. All paperworks were approved and visas are ready to be granted to the family with one condition, to find a doctor who specializes in Cerebral Palsy. This doctor will be providing monthly check up and the US State of Department also wants to find out about the average cost for the related services to determine whether my income can actually cover every thing. I have been trying to contact my family doctor as well as other local doctors and hospital but could not get any proper answer or the right sources to contact. Please help to point out a specific doctor in the Bay Area or an organization who can help in this issue. Thank you in advance and hope to receive some good news from you soon. Ricky

Have you tried contacting the Epilepsy Foundation affiliates in California? They can connect you with local specialists who can work with you and the State Department. Also visit the "Find a Doctor" link on www.epilepsy.com that will direct you to the database of the American Epilepsy Society (professionals in epilepsy listed by states) and the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (list centers as well as individuals in epilepsy). The NAEC may also give information on costs of epilepsy care in different regions as well. Good luck! Epilepsy.com Resource Specialist
