A question that anyone can answer

I'm fairly new to this site and in my varied read- ings, the initials "LOL" are printed. Can a fellow user, please explain to me the meaning of these letters. Thanks !

Hi, and welcome to the site ! Glad you asked the question, as it was asked a couple of times in chat last nite also. LOL = "laughing out loud, or "lots of laughs". It's an internet slang term.
