Pseudo or Epilepsy....Medics struggling to diagnose IDEAS? HELP?

Tue, 06/21/2016 - 19:23
Just read article "Helpful Tools in the Diagnosis and Study of Psychogenic Nonepileptic Seizures" if only the hospital staff would read this too! I am so "over" being accused of "faking" & taking up valuable time in the emergency department of hospital because I'm convulsing. As you well know it isn't fun being on the other side either. Seizures are not nice & my experience is they have a huge impact on your quality of life. my MRI,CT,and first EEG (on antiepileptics)were normal. Prolactin has been within normal range. Did sleep deprivation EEG a week ago with medication withdrawn & had a seizure so I hope to get a definite answer soon. Does this really happen if not epilepsy???? Status seizures, respiratory arrest & intubation???? Sadly it wasn't a once off. There is so much debate between the medical Drs & Neurologists I don't know what to think or feel. Can anyone help from their experience?
