Possible epilepsy?

Hi there, For the past 2 to 2,5 years I've been suffering from sudden involuntary movements. Sometimes it's just my neck or arm, but often it's my entire body. This causes a strange, jerky jump or step backwards while my upper body snaps forward, sometimes with my arms flying in the air. All these things only last a fraction of a second and they vary in intensity. The only reason I know what they look like is because of what people have told me and the few recordings I've been making with my webcam these past few days; they happen too fast for me to accurately 'feel' what I'm doing. I usually feel them coming by an odd build-up of tension, most noticeable in my back, and the tension disappears right after the movement. I can have this hours before I have one of the movements, and it usually just has me sitting around just waiting for the damn thing to happen already so I can relax! I also get a tingly feeling on my skin beforehand, but that might be related to the fact that I have them more frequently when I'm cold so they could just be regular goose-bumps. The cold thing is so extreme that I had a really severe one in the meat produce section of the super market just last Saturday which made other people in the aisle come up to me and ask what in the world had just happened - and in the meantime I was cracking up for no good reason. I don't know why they make me laugh - they just often do :) It's probably just nervousness. I've noticed I pretty much only have them when sitting or standing, not when moving. (Which is a good thing - I'd have a serious problem if something like this happened while riding a bike!) I've had up to fifteen in a day, but sometimes I go for long periods (weeks/months) without any. Since this past Friday, I've had one to five a day. I recover quickly (they even make me laugh like I said) and they don't hurt. Well, it did that one time I accidentally smacked my arm into something... but that doesn't count. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I've been doing a lot of research online and I can't find anything that matches my symptoms precisely - myoclonic seizures seem to come closest but mine appear to be more severe than what I've read/seen online so far. They're more than small jerks. I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome almost three years ago, and for that reason I've been calling them tics up to a few weeks ago when I actually started doing some research on tics and seizures and realised that they're not much alike. I was convinced they had to be seizures or spasms of some sort, but then I heard that my cousin (also with Asperger's) had the same things, had a few tests done and that they turned out to be tics. I'm hopelessly confused now. Add to that that I have a vivid imagination and a wee bit of hypochondria, and I'm starting to wonder if it's not just my subconscious messing with me and 'making' them happen. They feel a lot like the regular shivers one gets when cold or tense, except obviously more severe. Since they're so extremely brief, I can't test whether they're just a reaction to something that I can stop if I want to (eg. shivering) or something genuinely beyond my control. All this self-doubt is really irritating, and it's making me wish I'll be diagnosed with something proper so that I won't have to doubt my own reliability anymore. Anyway, sorry for rambling on like that. I have an appointment with a neurologist in just under two weeks, but in the meantime I was curious if anyone has symptoms like mine or if I'm totally looking in the wrong direction for an explanation. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated :)
