New, trying to slay the epilepsy dragon

Thu, 10/23/2014 - 03:07

Hello,

I've been having seizures since last December (tonic clonics) at least. I've always had weird little things about me that now looking back seem like seizures or auras. I was attacked in 09', and suffered a closed head injury which caused a hematoma and a severe brain/bone bruise, i also had a string tied around my neck. Since then I've been telling people my brain isn't the same, the way I thought was different, slower almost,  just not right, I got diagnosed with ptsd in 10', and was told all the symptoms were that of ptsd.

i ramble sometimes and I apologize that I got off the track. Anyway last December I had a very violent tonic clonic in my sleep followed by 2 others, I was taken to hospital where I believe I had two more. Dealing with all this is extremely confusing, frustrating and terrifying. Still learning, it's a process.

A head injury can cause

A head injury can cause epilepsy. If you had a hematoma it might have been a bad enough hit to cause a hemorage to the brain. If it did then the hemmorage can cause scar tissue, My epilepsy is caused by just that. As for learning mor about epilepsy you are no the right site.  To start learning go to the learning section. If you were given the type of epilepsy read about it. You can read about the different types of seizures. Oh and a person can have more than 1 type of seizure.  You might want to read the symptoms of ptsd and those of several types of epilepsy. There are many areas they match. I hope you get the assistance you need and you get seizure free
