I'm Annette, Diagnosed with Grand-mal Seizures since Grade School when I was in the 5th grade. I am now 41 and still an epileptic, doctors say I am stuck with this medical problem for the rest of my life. Here is my Story!! When I was a Baby I had alot of high fevers which caused Convulsions and almost died from the high fevers once. After getting out of Toddler yrs they went away for yrs and then when I started the 5th Grade the Seizures re-appeared, It seemed every time I really got up-set about something or get really frustrated in School these Grand-mal Seizures would appear. Anyhow; a teacher at my School had a Spouse that was connected with All Childrens Hospital which connected my Mom with a Specialist that dealt with Epilepsy (Neorologist). Had alot of E.E.G's and found out that I had Brain abnormalities which defined me as an Epileptic. After Grade School Seizures disappeared for at least a Decade and then re-appeared when I was 18 married and Pregnant with my First Child and then once again put back on Dilatin. After another Decade past and my Seizures seemed to have disappeared one more time for another 10 yrs I stopped taking my Dilatin. Then out of no where I was having a rough time in a marriage and started having Seizures again and now I am in my 40rs and these Grand Mal Seizures are getting rough on my body. I Started having them back once I turned 40yrs and now Iam 41 and my last Seizure was june,13,2005 and now I am taking Dilatin and Trileptol. Well that is my Story about my Fight with Epilepsy. The thing about this medical problem is, Do not take this medical problem for Granted because it can come back and bite you if you do not keep taking your Meds, take it from me. Thank you!!!!
