New here and really need help

I've been going through seizures for several months now and two ended with me waking up in an ambulance. I was put on keppra and am now going to be seeing an epileptic specialist the 18th of this month. I'm kind of curious though as to what kind of seizures am I having? They started out as a weird moment where I was in a store with my son and all of a sudden a cloud feeling came over me and I had no idea where we were, how we got there, what I did that morning like everything was gone from my memory, and after a couple minutes it faded but I was still sort of lost and we ended up going home. Then it progressed into an aura feeling where I would feel it coming, I'd get a tinge of pain in my head, the cloudy feeling, confused and out of it, my hands and feet would go numb and then I would start jerking and twitching and eventually it would stop and I would just get tired after with a bad headache and stomach ache. My husband told me with my two seizures that ended up needing ambulance and hospital was I got an aura and warned him. He said I started jerking and collapsed and was unconscious with vicious jerking, eyes rolling into the back of my head and he said I couldn't wake up so he called the ambulance. He told me they gave me Ativan and woke me up but I was confused and I still have no memory of this incidents. I'm just looking for some ideas as to what kind of seizures they may be. Since being put on the keppra from the hospital, I've been ok but after two weeks or so id start jerking a bit which would start in my right hand and then move to my whole body, but I was conscious and could communicate... Probably the medicine helping and at one point my husband called the doctor and then upped my dosage and I've been better since. I had an EEG which appeared normal, blood tests and ct scans all normal. When I see this specialist what can I expect? What kind of seizures do I seem to fall into? Any help please...

The last seizure you posted

The last seizure you posted about with it starting in your hand would be a focal seizure. A focal seizure starts in one area of your body. If it stays there fine. But yours started to generalize(moving from that one point into the other areas of your brain. If it completely generalizes you will be in a seizure which looks like a grand mal.seizure. The difference is you are concious and know whats going on while in them. One of the other seizures you posted would be a tonic clonic which can start in a aura or a cloudy feeling. In those you lose conciousness so you wouldn't know what happened or even remember what you went thru. The tests done in the ER were general tests blood EKG and CT scans are genrally done to everybody going to the ER. he ENT's knew you had a seizure so their information led the ER people to do the EEG. If it was short about 45 minutes they might come back normal. I had 20-25 different EEG's all came back normal. If you have an appt with a epileptic specialist the 18th of this month fine. Keppra is becomming the go to medication for epilepsy. It is the best medications I have used. Now you said the dosage was increased which can and does happen. Keep track of the number of seizures you have had since taking the keppra and inform the doctor of them. Take the videos with you so he can see them. That is when he can answer your questions better as to which types of seizures yo uhave had since you can have more then 1 type of seizure. The tests he will have you do are generally a EEG but longer then the 45 minutes one. He might even have you do a sleep deprived EEG or go into  EMU (epilepsy monitering unit) for an EEG lasting 3 days or longer. In the tesiting done when I was diagnosed I fell asleep in the last test which was another EEG in that EEG is when they saw abnormalities (seizure activity) which are electrical impulses going off wrong in the brain. The other test would be a MRI. Which is different from the Ct scan. The scan will show things but the MRI actually shows what the brain looks like and anything that is on it, With me my epilepsy is caused by scar tissue, The scar tissue is from a hemmorage to the brain. The hemmorage was from a blow to my head.  With some people it could be a cell in the brain that was deformed during birth and many other things. If you are taking meds 2 times a day please be sure they are 12 hours apart. It also takes time for your body to get used to the medication and build up the theraputic levels the specialist wants it at. I hope this helps Joe
