Hello Everyone,
I'm new here and to epilepsy, I hope that I am posting this in the correct place. My son was diagnosed with seizures, which we had suspected to be migraines, in March of this year after experiencing his first grand-mal. The neurologist said that the kind he has is hereditary, which got my and my husbands brains wondering. We are curious if I have been having partial seizures. My latest one was last night, so I will explain exactly what happened. My husband and I were playing a Wii game in the dark and in the game you have to watch closely and choose which of the little things the object was put under, similar to the egg and bean game played at carnivals etc. Well I started feeling kind of funny and a little nauseated. I chalked it up to the movement I had watched so closely but a few minutes later I knew something was seriously going on. It's a little embarrassing but I have pretty severe emetophobia (fear of vomiting), so I'm unsure if what happened next was a panic attack because I was feeling unwell or a seizure. Suddenly my arms started curling in and even my fingers were contorted in strange ways. I was rolling my back and my voice sounded strained. My husband, thinking it was a panic attack, was trying to calm me down but he said he could feel the sweat through my shirt. What is strange is for the most part I was pretty calm. I wasn't crying or hyperventilating or anything. I continued to move in strange ways and then it began to taper off after about seven minutes. I was conscious and talking to my husband the entire time and was even able to google for myself the symptoms of a mild seizure. This isn't the first, second, or even third time this has happened. I've experienced this about twenty to thirty times in the last three years assuming they were panic attacks. I know you all can't diagnose me and I've made an appointment with a doctor but in your opinion does this sound like a seizure? I want to remind you that I was completely calm during this episode so I am sceptical that this was a normal panic attack.
One last thing: today my arms and back are so sore from how tight my muscles were.
What you posted could be

What you posted could be seizures. When I was having focal motor seizures that generalized I knew what was happening and saw, heard and knew what was happening. I just couldn't say anything. A year earlier I thought the wierd feeling in my hand or they would have twitches going on for a long period of time and I talked to my brother during them. Those twitches were focal seizures that start in my hand. Today they would be simple partial seizures. So yes you can talk or some people can talk and do things while they are having a seizure or the seizure is over and they are needing time for things to settle down and get back to normal. I had seizures while in a call center and I still worked with the customer and resolved their issues. It did take time because it took time for me to use my right hand correctly.A person can start to sweat and their heart rate will increase at times. I know mine did at times.Doctors can help but in your case it needs to be a neurologist like your son is seeing. If you are happy with that doctor then by all means see if you can get an appt with him. I hope this helps and you get the assistance you need Joe
