Hello to all, My name is Livia. Iam a 40yr. old female. I suffered my first seizure in Dec.05. I still cannot believe Iam going thru this and I need all the support I can get. Would like to know how do you and your family cope with this? Iam married with kids.Do any of you being on medication work, drive still do your everyday things alone or do you always have someone with you just in cause you go thru a seizure. My husband is suppose to be going away and is afraid to leave me alone with the kids. He's thinking about having a nurse or someone to stay with me. Right now Iam feeling really down and confused. Any response is really appreciated. Thanks Livia

Dear Livia- Sorry you are going thru this. My huband travels overseas for his business so I see him a total of about 3 months a year. Some of the things that I have done is put on a medic alert watch thru the company Alert One. You can be anywhere in the house and if you feel a seize coming on, you push the button on your alert watch and they come on a speaker to talk to you, call an ambulance or call whoever is on your list of numbers like a next door neighbor, close friend or family member. It's a very reasonable system which I have used a couple of times just to talk me thru a seizure until someone they called gets to my house. I feel much safer being able to Talk to them over the speaker and if I go out they call an ambulance anyway. I also get my groceries delived by a grocery chain twice a week. It costs ten dollars but if you use coupons you can pretty much cover the delivery cost. I also use the chat room here at night, especially if alone, as I have given my cell phone to some of my friends here and they have called me if they feel I'm having a problem. Hope some of this info helps. I know its hard. Hugs Joan
