I hate hospitals but I also

I hate hospitals but I also love them. I have never liked taking meds and really didn't like going to doctors. If you had felt bad and knew it might be more then a cold would you have gone to a doctor to get things taken care of? If you broke your arm would you go to a plumber or a doctor. Understand that neurologists can and are generally associated with a hospital but their office might not be in a hospital. After the 2nd seizure is when you needed to see a doctor. Without treatment seizures get more rapid and stronger. Restricting your license is required by LAW and all states have then. Six months is generally required time period to go without a seizure. I see people complaining about not being able to drive. Laws are written to protect the populace (all the people in the state). Use a little common sense and think about what might have happened if you had been driving when you had your seizure.. Could you have gotten hurt? In an accident could others had been hurt or killed? The medication you are going to take or have started taking works. I used it for a period of time. It will take time for your body to get used to it since it is not like aspirin where once taken it goes away after some hours. Seizure medications take time to build up in your body to the therapeutic levels the neurologist wants. If the neurologist prescribed a medication and will be your neurologist then they may want a follow up visit in 3-6 moths to see how things are going. That time period gives the time needed to get built up and some months to see if the medication is controlling the seizures. I would suggest you get the My Epilepsy Diary which is in this site. Watch the video and use it. Give the neurologist permission to bring it up and it can help him with medications, dosages and possible procedures. I hope this helps Joe
