need help getting into chat room plz

hi. can someone tell me what to do. i get the chat box up and the applet is started but i keep getting a response of "erroneous nickname" and then "Not in any channel yet"..thnx

Did you type what it told you to type.
Including quotation marks

I have the same problem You have to Type something like join your#chat room_channel or something
