Hi all, my daughter is 6 months old. The last couple days we've noticed her zoning out in her high chair when she's eating. She will just stare to the side and not respond to her name or her face being touched for 5-10 seconds. It mostly looks just like she's daydreaming. I have't noticed it anywhere else but after eating solids. But I was able to get it on video so we showed our doctor who is concerned she may be having absence seizures. She is putting in a referral for a neurologist. I attached a video of it at the beginning. Just looking for thoughts or advice until I see the neurologist. Thanks in advance.

you have done what you think will help your daughter and yess the neurologist will view the video.  Most neurologists want testing and the 2 tests done are An EEG and a MRI. The EEG i a brain wave test showing the electrical output comming from her brain. Many come back normal. I know I had 20-25 come back normal. I fell asleep in one and it did not come back normal. It had abmormalities in it (spikes and or waves), Those abnormalities can cause a seizure,All it takes in an electrical impulse going off wrong in the brain causing a chain reaction. The MRI shows th brain from all angles. If they see abnormalities in the EEG they will then look closer in that area of the MRI so see if ANYTHING is wrong in that area. By wrong it could be a abnormal groth in the womb. With me it was scared brain tissue. There are many other things that could lamd in that area. But the neurologist will ask questions and please answer them to the best of your ability. While waiting for the visit write down the episodes and note thngs. What happened different that day. Please tell him all th medications she takes or has taken. I hope this helps Joe
