I have epilepsy since I was eleven. Now I am 42. They had to change my meds because the brand I was taking was stopped being made. I had complete seizure control until they put me on topamax and then on lamictal. Since I have had several seizures. It has been really dissapointing. I feel so drained when I take these meds compared to the phenobarb. But I could only take the Lilly Brand and they quit making it. Why when something works do they quit making it?

MONEY!!!! Unless they can rip you off by charging alot for it, they don't want to make it. Too many other companies make it cheap, as if the drug companies are really hurting for money....ha ha. I didn't know Lilly stopped making phenobarb. I took it for 17 yrs, until it did stop working for me. I now take Lamictal too. It costs $273.17 for a 30 day supply. I used to get the phenobarb for about $10.50/month. I could get over 2 years worth of phenobarb for the price of one month of Lamictal. It is rediculous.
