I don't understand what happened
Sat, 08/09/2014 - 12:06Hello,
could any one give me some information on a seizure I've had. It's the second time in my life that I've had a seizure but this one was very distressing. The first one I had when I was 19, now I'm 23. It happened when I got out of a swimming pool. I lost consciousness and had muscle spasms all over my body. When that was over I stared at the people around me and couldn't recognise anyone, even though they were friends of mine. You should know that I am bilingual. When I tried to talk I had forgotten all my Dutch and could only speak English, I could understand what was being said though. It seemed that I couldn't remember anything that had happened over the past year. I also had laughing fits and got angry because I didn't understand what was going on. This happened two days ago and I'm still feeling drowsy and upset. I would be very thankful if anyone could give me some information on what happened to me!
What you posted could have

What you posted could have been different types of seizures. Losing conciousness and spasms (convulsions) could be tonic clonic (grand mal) the laughing episodes are another. As for being tired seizures drain energy since in convulsions your muscles ar jerking with all the strength they have. The delay in understanding and talking is the post ictal state after a seizure. You need to check with your doctor and see a neurologist I hope this helps
