good morning to everyone, or evening wherever you are. im dave. im an emt. i just joined up here after having my first seizure after 6 years.

i was diagnosed with epilepsy back in 2007 by a civilian doctor while i was in the navy. i dont remember much of what he told me but he stated my eeg was normal while i was awake and abnormal once i fell asleep. long story short, i find myself back in the e community. i dont seize while im awake, and im unsure of the type of seizures i have while sleeping. some GM and some partial? at least what i heard from my fiancee. i hope to get to know plenty of you as im seeking a lot of support and answers now.

WelcomeWe will try and answer your questions. But please ask some before we try to answer them As for your EEG.... The sleep deprived EEG does show different things. I fell asleep in an EEG and that was when they found out where the abnormalities came from. It did not mean I had seizures in my sleep. I haven't had a nocturnal seizure that I know of. All teh EEG does is show the electrical output comming from the brain.  All a seizure is is an electrical impulse going off wrong in the brain. I hope we can answer your questions when you hve them
