Has anyone tried changing diet or other remedies.

I have a 7 year old son. He has had gran mal seizures since he was 8 months old. he has been on several different meds and the ketogenic diet, he has the VNS implant, and nothing seems to work. we always see a slight change in his seizures but not enough to satisfy me. He seizures almost everynight. I would really like to find something that can help him. I am really starting to believe it might be his diet. I am thinking of drastically changing his diet, and getting him off all the junk and go all natural. has anyone had luck with holistic cures. I know this sounds crazy but we are desperate.

It is not crazy at all. Diet is the key to helping seizures. I have been on the ketogenic diet, vns, surgeries, neurofeedback, Omega three,vitamins... I cut my sweets(hard as hell to do) it is better to do it while he is young. Make sure he is not on any MSG foods, aspartame. Any boxed, can, frozen may have msg in it. They will cause seizures. Neurofeedback is very helpful for seizures. I have lots of info in my group on all these things. I try to follow a low carb, coconut oil, and olive oil. And I take my omega three. I am now dealing with hormones, but that is whole nother story. But I have done very well with doing everything. I started at 25 complex partials a month down to one every other month. But like I said I am now dealing with the hormones. Check out my group, my story and the info. Lisa http;//health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/
