Hey, my name is taylor and just have a condition called status elepticus I first started having the seizures when I was 16. They were never really that bad the first year or two but then they got stronger and longer at an alarming rate. In 2012 I was induced into a coma to stop.a seizure that had lasted over nine hours. They are not as frequent now but when they happen If no one is around to call 911 they can go on for hours on end. I have read about nerve damage and other side effects and just was wondering if the pain in my arms, legs and back could be relaTed to this. Or if anyone else has had a similar problem with any luck keeping the pain at bay

In Status if it is convulsive

In Status if it is convulsive your muscles are jerking will all the strength thy have. Meaning more strength then you know about. Think about a person picking up a car when someone is under it. The adrenalin rush does most of that and that is what your muscles are doing. You see I know because I had it years ago. Mine started about 9:30 at might and we couldn't get a vehicle to take me to the hospital until about5:45 am. I was informed that they had gotten me out of it and called Mom to come pick me up. Before she got back I went into it again. All I know was that I came to 3 days later. SO what I have posted is information I have pieced together over periods of time. As for muscles and pain it goes away over time since your muscles have never worked like that before. Think about your muscles that you overwork in a gym. Well in status those muscles were over worked many times that amount. I was in status back in 1970. I haven't gone into it again. A seizure can cluster and medications can be administered to stop the clustering. Clustering can lead to status...Talk to your neurologist and see if your seizures cluster or do they go directly into status. . If they closter you have some time to give yourself a rescue medication to keep you from going into status.

I've had seizures go into

I've had seizures go into tonic clonic and status, the picking up a car analogy is a good one I never thought of that. The last couple seizure events have put me into kidney failure. The violent tonic clonic convulsions can break down your muscle tissue and flood your kidneys with proteins and creatine to the point they fail. This keeps the pain from all that exertion floating around your body without your kidneys and liver able to clean it out so the soreness does not go away like it should and probably further damages muscles and other organs. I'm seeing a kidney specialist next week. Maybe cranberry juice or other detox type stuff? I was going to start taking charcoal to help detox but now I cant with Vimpat I don't think, will ask my Dr.
