First Timer?

Wed, 04/22/2015 - 22:24

So I am new to seizures or so I thought. I had a grand map seizure 4 weeks ago and I told my doctors it was my first one and I was being honest. I had my EEG and my neurologist said I am "prone" to seizures. My MRI came up good and no diagnosis came of it but I was out on Keppra twice a day for 2 years. It was after all of this I remember having one 2 years ago and it was pretty severe and I must have blocked it out of my mind and just forgot it. I now also remember having one sometime in 1983 and possibly in 1989 and I won't lie, I was using drugs during those. The 1st one I had smoked a lot of really good pot and the 1989 one I was on LSD. My question is, do the other seizures change my possible diagnosis and is Keppra the appropriate medication for my situation. I am afraid to now tell my Doctor as I fear losing my license to drive and my job but at the same time I fear ha I g one while driving and killing someone. I am truly torn on what to do. Is the Keppra sufficient? Please, someone help me with this as I am truly wrestling with this.

Keppra is becoming the go  to

Keppra is becoming the go  to medication. By not informing the doctor of your other seizures then he is going with what he saw in the EEG. If he said you were prone to seizures he saw abnormalities, By only knowing about the 1 seizure then you are lucky to not have had your license revoked.the diagnosis is you have epilepsy. As for the type of seizures you may have there are mant different types some are small like a absence seizure or some like a tonic clonic which is AKA Grnad Mal and a person can have several different types of seizures
