Experience my first seizure.. HELP
Thu, 03/26/2015 - 08:08Hi, I'm called Grace and I'm 19 years old. Yesturday I expereinced my first seziure. I was revising for my upcoming exam which has put me under a lot of stress, I suddenly couldn't read any of the words and I couldn't concentrate at all, I started to feel really odd but I didn't know what it was, I started to panic and I went really dizzy and my whole body started to tingle. I was brought outside where I started to twitch, i couldn't speak and when i tried, i just slurred my words, my arms were restrictred to my upper body and I couldn't move them. My body was constantly jerking and my mouth/jaw was moving. My friend rang the ambulance as the seizure was ongoing and my heart was going fast (117bpm), I gradulary started to feel better and my jaw finally stopped moving. The staff at the hospital checked my blood pressure, blood and my heart and they said I was fine and I was discharged a few hours later.
Also, I think I am light sensitive. I volunteer at a charity where we run spot activies for disabled children but the gym hall is very bright, and often I have to sit at the side as I feel sick and start to get a headache from the bright light. Secondly, when i go out to a nightclub where the strobe lights are flashing, this really irritates my eyes and I have to look away or else I feel like i will faint.
Should I book a doctors appointment to figure out the cause of the seizure (the hopsital didn't really know what caused it)? I'm just a bit worried.
Thanks, Grace
