Does anyone go into a "mission"?

Fri, 05/12/2006 - 02:56
Sometimes when I am finished with the physical seizure, I go into what my husband refers to as a "mission". While I was working, I would go from my desk, get on an elevator and find myself outside not knowing how I got there. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I saw your note about hormones and seizures. I took Tegretol (and tried others)for eight years, but my epilepsy couln't be controlled. After I started taking Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone injection birth control) I was seizure free for six years! The doctors wouldn't have anything to do with the idea that the DP would be helping my epilepsy - after all 'it's a contraceptive, not an antiepileptic drug'!! I can see a definite hormonal link that the doctors can't/won't, and I think sometimes you have to trust your OWN body...

I've had seizures for 13 years and I still do. I always have it 1-2 weeks before my period or after my period so my doctor thanks it's a hormonal problem. I've taken plenty of testes through the years and doctors never see nothing wrong in my head but I still have seizures every month. Now My doctor suggest that I take the Depo-Provera injections but I'm confused and nervous because I don't really know if I should take it or not because all the other medications I've taken never changed anything.

Are you having seizures and are you still taking antieplipetic meds? When I was pregnant with my son, I only had one seizure, 6 hours before my water broke (hormones?). I also went on birth control for 3 years trying to find one that would be good for me. I was not allowed to take birth control along with seizure meds. The problem was it reversed my cycle. The bleeding was so bad that at times I thought I was hemorraghing, so I had to stop. During the time I was on the pill, there were no seizures; however, as soon as I stopped, within a month they were back.
