Did I have a seizure or do I have seizures?

I'm really curious to know if what I'm dealing with and have dealt with are or are not seizures. The first thing I want to talk about are my "twitches". I've recently done some research and I've read that my "twitches" may be some kind of seizures I get. Parts of my body randomly twitch at random times and I can't control it. Sometimes I get these violent "shivers" where my neck/shoulders/and sometimes my head and torso shake violently for a second or two. I'm completely alert while this happens. I also find myself staring into space sometimes, alert but almost unable to move my head or eyes. People may try to talk to me but I can't really figure out how to speak for a few seconds, then I snap back into reality. That may just be me zoning out though, I'm not sure. The second thing I wanted to bring up was a seizure/migraine thing I had a few months ago. When it was happening, we didn't know what it was and we still don't really know. I was sitting at the computer table and the game I was playing flashed lightning. At that point I got really dizzy and I tried to wander around a bit. From this point on are things I've been told about what happened because I can't remember most of it (it lasted roughly and hour). My dad helped me back to my room where I remember laying in my bed, not being able to move. After who knows how long later, my mom called me and she told me I was going to the hospital. She asked me what I get and what was happening but all I said was "I can't talk" because I was stuttering so bad. It took me maybe a minute to get it out. After a little bit 1 or 2 ambulance people came to get me out of my room. I remember seeing 6 men helping me to the living room, though there weren't nearly 6. Then I remember a whole bunch of people crowding me and doing things like checking my blood pressure. While this was happening I was crying a lot and couldn't help it. I think it was because I was scared. I was told that the men asked me questions and there weren't nearly as many as I saw. My the time they got me on the stretcher I was kind of alert. On the ambulance I either fell asleep or my memory blanked on me again. Once I was at the hospital I was almost fine; like nothing happened. We did a whole bunch of scans and I had someone look at my brain and they didn't find anything abnormal. They called my episode a migraine but I think otherwise. Does anyone have an idea of what this is and if my twitches are actually a type of seizure? Thanks.

my "twitches" may be some kind of seizures<<<<myoclonic seizures myocolonus means twitch. Everybody i know can have a muscle twitch. Hicups are mycolonus twitches. But when you have them in several different parts of the body it might fall into epilepsy.I also find myself staring into space sometimes <<<absence seizures The seizure itself last seconds but can be longer. Focal seizures can also look like absence seizures. A person having them look like they are daydreaming.I was playing flashed lightning <<<photosensitivity is a trigger for some people. the movement of the light on some games can trigger a seizure. Just as a flash of sunlight for others. People have to watch things closer if their sensitivy is high or low Some people get blue glasses to control the light. Oh and if under a tree just the movement of a leaf letting th sunlight in can trigger a seizure. They called my episode a migraine <<< could bea seizure since there are many seizuresthat can cause head aches like migrains..did a whole bunch of scans <<< scans show the brain as it is or looks. It can be and is normal for most of the people with epilepsy. If they were regular doctors and not neurologists they did what they thought would show a diagnosis. Neurologists also run an EEG which is a brain wave test. It shows the electrical activity coming from the brain. That is the main test used to determine seizures. IF it is run and it shows abnormalities they will see spikes or waves aka seizure activity. They want that before other tests because a seizure starts when an electrical impulse hits wrong. The seizure itself is the chain reaction caused by that impulse hitting wrong. If they have increased in number over a period of time and treatment is not started then the number of them will increase and they do become stronger. Which can lead to a tonic-colonic seizure aka Grand Mal seizure. You should discuss this issue with your regular doctor and get them to refer you to a neurologist that specializes in eliplepsy. IF you do then take the information you got from the ER or Hospital with you and do give them all the different things you posted here.I hope this helps and you get these issues resolvedJoe
