Did I have a seizure? Live alone - unwitnessed loss of consciousness

Tue, 03/31/2015 - 23:41

Hi, I'm a 22 year old male.

I had a really odd event happen the other day and I was wondering if someone here could lend some advice about if it could have been a seizure.

I live in an apartment by myself. It was late in the evening and I was feeling completely fine other than slightly tired. I went to my room and the very last thing I remember was putting my laptop computer on my bed.

Some time later, I wake up and I'm just staring at the ceiling. It takes me a solid 1-2 minutes to figure out where I am. I eventually make it to the bathroom because I feel very nauseous, dizzy, and weak. Next thing I notice is that I have a moderate bite at the lateral side of my tongue. It's bleeding and I spit blood into the sink for a few minutes. My face burns up then goes cold. Then I feel like I'm going to collapse so I go back to lie down.

All is better in maybe 1 hour. I didn't go to the hospital because I have a medical background and wanted to avoid it.

I'm so confused and I wish someone would have seen what happened. Could this have been a seizure?
