Deep Brain Stimulator

Hi my son is 17 yrs old. and has been seizure active since he was 3 months old but we did not know he was having seizures until he was 7 months old. He has already been on every medication there is for him to be on to try and stop the seizures or at the least calm them down. The only thing that has worked in the past would be the ACTH shots, which is a steroid medication and you can't be on it for a long time because of the side effects. Plus he has had his first VNS implant put in back in 1999, and two more since then. I guess it works pretty good but not good enough to get all his seizures. He has had a two part Corpus-Callosotomy done. After the first part he was seizure free for six months and then back to seizures again. Now the Doctor has discussed with us a Deep Brain Stimulator (DBS), and befor I do this I'd like to see if there are any other patients out there that know what this is and maybe even has it currently working for them. This DBS was actually brought out to use in patients with Parkinson's, but they are hoping they will have successes with it for the other Neurologicial Problems.
