52 years old and not convinced

~~I began having deja vu like symptoms last spring. Following this was an unpleasant, disconnected, feeling in my brain. I did not lose conciousness but did feel like I had somewhat left the present. Lasts about 30 seconds. I don't pass out, fall down, or convulse.  This would happen about every 4-6 weeks. They would come in clusters that lasted about 2 days. I could get anywhere from 6 in 2 days to 20. I waited until the end of the summer to see a neurologist who quickly diagnosed me with seizure disorder. My EEg's have been normal. (I have had 2). My blood work is perfect. I also had an MRI which was normal. I was put onto Limotrigine startting at a very low dose increasing slowly over time to 1000mg per day. If I miss a pill, I will have a small episode. I really am not sure these are seizures. I really don't want to take meds. I want a second opinion and wonder if the meds are having a negative effect. I feel slightly fuzzy and not 100% on my game. I have only been on the meds since Sept. 1st. It is only December but I really want to see about trying to get off. May I get input and advice from others? Is it possible this is something else?
