2nd seizure at night after 4 years

Wed, 06/10/2015 - 01:13

I just had a seizure for the second time after 3 1/2 years during my asleep.

First time I was sleeping and it scared the living lights out of my wife so she called 911, paramedics came and took me to the ER. they ran head scan and everything was fine. doctor said maybe I ate too much before I went to bed and that's true. I did eat a lot and was so full and got sleepy and crashed on the bed.I also bit my tongue and there was blood on the pillow

Second time, I was sleeping it I fell out of the bed, hit my face against the coffee table and it hurt my nose too, and my face and my body was against the table and the floor so my back was twisted. girlfriend pull me away from the table and took me to the bathroom and gave me clean clothes because I somehow had peed my sleeping pants (that was embarrasing) so I changed clothes, I also bit my tongue and it now hurts when I eat, and then I tried to laid back down and asked her to call my mom and let her know I had a seizure (don't remember asking her to do that) and I went back to sleep. I woke up feeling super tired and called in sick and didn't go to work. I remember I ate before going to bed a lot and feeling superfull, I did waited like 2 hours before going to bed, took a shower and watched TV but I wasn't tired but I did lay down just to get some rest and wake up early.

I'm having trouble waking up early in the morning so I'm trying to go to be earlier but one thing that makes me fall asleep faster is eating, I'm not over weight. I'm physically active, food makes me fall asleep faster and I did have the word seizure on the back of my head but was like..nah..i won't happen again and I met other people who only had one seizure in their life time and never had another seizure after that.

so the only thing that makes me think it triggers my seizures at night is when I over eat and go to bed, does that sound something unusual or normal for people to have seizures when they eat and go to bed?

Nocturnal epilepsy is a condition in which patients experience seizures at night, usually while sleeping.   "Nocturnal epilepsy" put that in the search area on this site.Back in the stone age when I was diagnosed it was called Nocturnal Epilepsy. Once they went into specializations they came up with different names for epilepsy and different types of seizures. I hope this helps Joe
