26 month old with atonic seizure history, showing signs of outbursts.

Mon, 05/16/2016 - 23:45
My son is 2. He was diagnosed with Atonic Seizures when he was one. He is on medications and since being on them we have not seen any seizures. He was born 2 months early and because of that has been hitting his milestones pretty late. Especially his speech. His developmental pediatrican was concerned with him having autism but then changed her mind. Lately he has been starting to zone out and starring. Then when he comes back he lashes out, either throwing his toys. Hitting something near by or even hitting myself. I am not sure is this is a possible seizure or if it is autism or if it is something else. Any ideas or suggestions on how to find out?

Call the neurologist and discuss this issue with them. zoning out could be seizures absence seizures look like the person is daydreaming. Also know that after a seizure the person has a state where they may be ticked off because they were doing something and they have to start all over. I wasn't a baby but as a teen I threw tings and yes slammed my fist into walls.  It isn't fun having to re dig a garden and set up the rows again when you had worked on it for hours only to see it messed up.  A call may be all they is needed. Oh and any changes in size and weight can affect the dosage levels, Been there done that around the same time I redug the garden. Changed from a kid to a teen and dosages were adjusted 4-5 times in just under a year. well gaining 50 lbs can do it
