18 month old daughter with seizure from hippocampus are of brain

My 18 month old daughter had a 20 minute siezure about 2 months ago which left a lesion and eventual scarring in the hippocampus of the brain. After fllow up MRI and EEG our doctor is now sure she will have furhter seizures due to the sensitivity of this area in the brain to seizures. Does anyone have any exprience with this. I am having trouble even finding info about seizures in the hippocampus on line that arent way over my head. Shes on phenobarb temporarly. i would love to hear from someone who has dealt with this personally!

Sorry to hear about your daughter. I know this is a scary time for you. There is also an ask the expert section on this site that may be able to guide you to some less general, more detailed information that you need.
I have not had that experience. But my 2 year old son is suffering from tonic-clonic seizures in clusters, so I relate to how scary this can be. Please keep writing and getting support. It is hard to process so much information and understand what is going on with our little ones, and my heart is with you.

I have had seizures, as the result of a brain tumor since 1987. Long story short. my seizures were not controlled. I had surgery on the right temporal lobe extending into hippocampus in 2000. Cleaned up the tumor, I have some upper peripheral vision loss but the good news they have finally been able to control my siezures with medication. Sad but true:) Just a story to let you know the things the doctors can do now compared to just 20 yrs. ago when I started this journey is incredible. I'm sure when your daughter is a teenager science will have progressed even more.
