What are YOUR headaches like?

Tue, 08/16/2011 - 16:08

Hello all,

I have not had physical seizure in a few years, but I am having more and more "spells".  I had done some reading and have come to believe I'm having partial seizures, therefore, I'm going back to the doctor to start the whole diagnostic process over. Yay.

Over the past few years, though, I have gotten headaches that start at the back of my head, right at the top of my neck.  They travel up the back of my head and "sit" behind one or both of my eyes.  This led me to believe it was just a sinus issue, but since I've been doing more reading about partial seizures, I'm wondering if they're related? Oh, and I normally wake up with it.

Anyone have similar headaches?

Thanks,

Tmacmes

My headaches are almost exactly the same.   I have had Complex Partial Seizures for 8 years starting when I was about 26.  I've also had two Grand Mal seizures and the headaches I have could be explained exatly the same.

I went  on Keppra to control the seizures and the headaches were gone for about five months.   I've been having really bad headaches since then and they prescribed imitrex for those.   The Imitrex works great for the headaches but the side effects are almost as bad as the headaches.   Sometimes the headaches stay at the top of my neck and sometimes they radiate to the front of my head or throb behind one eye or the other.

I often wake up with the headaches and I had them after both of my grand mal seizures.  I probably have the headaches 2 or 3 days per week.   I'd like to know if others have had the same issues.

My start right behind my eyes.  And within 3 days Im in the hospital.  I have found and outstanding doctor.  He has explained to me that they are comming from your frontal lobe.  And order to see if they are comming from the right side or the left side they would have to inject you with medine when have a seizure.  Also my doctor said it could be a sign of a seizure com ming.  When having a video eeg they added 37 wires instead of 32 and that was to see the frontal lobe.  Also that could be a sign of have seizures in your sleep.

I hadn't really thought about it much, but now that you describe the headaches you've been getting, I get the EXACT same headaches.  And I wake up with them as well.  Seems like they have been in the last year or so.  I started having seizures about a year and a half ago.  Are you still taking medications?  if so, which ones?  wondering if it might be med related.
