I don't know if I had a seizure or not.
Mon, 05/30/2011 - 23:07Okay well I am 18 and I have been diagnosed with a form of epilepsy since I was little. I have never had a full out seizure, but only "episodes" where I black out and lose consiousness/memory.
I don't know if I can get into trouble for talking about this on here, but I am desperate to know what happened to me. Recently, my friends and I smoked pot. It was one of my first times and I smoked a lot that night. At first I was just feeling a normal high, but then I started feeling really weird. I was laying in a room by myself and all of I felt like my whole body was full of pressure and it is really hard to explain but I felt like I was coming in and out of conciousness. I kept feeling it rise more and then all of the sudden I felt like I was convulsing. I felt like I wasn't really a part of my body but I still was. But I could feel myself shaking but I couldn't stop it. All I could think was this has to be a seizure. I remember thinking that I need to call 911 but I couldn't get to my phone because I couldn't move my arms or legs. I could hardly breath. Finally it stopped but then I started panicing and I couldn't breath and my friends came in and had to calm me down.
I have done some research and I have heard of this happening to others, but no one has said if it is really a seizure or not. I am really scared and I need to know what happened to me. I can promise that I am never going to do any drug ever again though. I am terrified.

I agree with the last post. Everyone's seizures are different and just hearing that you lost consciouness in the
past sounds like a seizure. Many seizures do not have convulsions, research Complex Partial Seizures. I
would find a Doctor soon, and stay away from the pot.

There's hot debate about whether pot should be used for medicinal reasons or not. But you can read those threads for yourself... I would suggest first finding a doc -- who will do diagnostic testing. That's the place to start, so that you can know where you actually stand. (In others words, it might NOT be the pot. But the pot may be exacerbating your susceptibility to seizures.) Good Luck!
