Hi My father age is 56 years. He has Focal Seizure right hand side for 2.7 years. He has been taking - levipil 1000 mg, eptoin 100mg and lacosamide 50 mg tablets 2 times in a day. But still no relief from the Focal Seizures. MRI, EEG and CT all have done. He has also liver disease - ALD liver cirrhosis. Any suggestion what is going wrong them him? there are medication that work thu the kidney instead of the liver.MRI, EEG and CT all have done. << yes those tests can be done. But without knowing the results all someone knows if they were done. Did any of them come up with abnormalities or did they fine something on his brain? As for Why seizure come after 2 or 3 months when they are taking medication regularly. Some people have the number of seizures reduced with the medications. IF that happened then adjustments to the dosages could be made to reduce them more. Coupling that medication with another one can also be done. I know people would love to never have another seizure. But I also know that some people will still have seizures. I am one of them. by working and talking to the neurologists each person can get their seizures reduced. I had gotten my seizures down to 4-8 seizures a month that lasted 5-8 minutes, By coupling the keppra I was taking with vimpat those seizures have been reduced to a seizure every 8-14 days. The length of time in them is now a few seconds. Another thing about them is I had one while in my GP's office and he knew nothing about it. That 3-5 second delay in my question  was there but he thought I was trying to figure out the word I wanted to use. I also know about focal seizures since those have been the only seizures I have had for years.Does he take his medications at the same time every day? If he takes them 2 times a day those times need to be 12 hours apart or he may have breakthrough seizures.I have only been living and dealing with epilepsy for 50+ years now.

All reports are fine. They say it is due to heavy drink in past. My father is taking medication regular but at 1 or half hour difference between it.
