Hi Lora, I took zonegran for about 8 months. It worked well for me for the first 4 months, and then quit. However, it had fewer side effects than any other med I have taken. The only side effect I had was a loss in weight (which I personally did not mind). Good luck to you and your daughter! Hi Lora How old is your daughter. Yes everyone is differant we tried this grug for Danny and after about 26 hours I pulled him off it. It made him a monster and he just held his head and screamed.... After we got this drug out of his system he was my happy baby again. This is one drug I hated......... wish you the best let us know how it goes. Sorry to hear Zonegran only worked for a time! My son is on it for the second time. it is not yet controlling his seizures but they are getting milder at least. We hope to gain control as we keep raising the dose.... It was a bad med for my daughter though. She seemed ok on it at first but after around 9 months on it her school work starting declining big time and her anxiety grew and was a real problem. Once she was slowly weaned off it she did just fine. grades are better this year and her anxiety has been nil. has anything else changed to explain the breakthroughs? Hormone? Illness, stress, skipping a dose, anything else that might have lowered threshold? have you tried raising the dose to see if control can be found again? I hope things settle down soon. Seizures REALLY REALLY stink. Having a rough week this week ourselves with too many. Take care, Ginny
